Never trust anyone! This has been Robert Chase’s motto for the twenty years he has been a covert field officer for the CIA. He removes people – dangerous individuals deemed worthy of private cells in dark offshore prisons. His successes have made him a legend at Langley and the go-to person when the nation’s security is at risk. Conflicting laws and shifting national priorities have created the shadows in which he has done his best work, but a chance meeting with a special woman in Paris has threatened to change all that. Samantha has her own secrets and she won’t give them up easily. They could become rivals or partners; the outcome will depend on the chemistry between them.

The story begins with an operation in Marseille, France. Chase has never experienced a significant failure before and he intends for this to be no exception. But he discovers that all events are not in his control. He vows never to be outsmarted again. When he returns to Paris, he also finds that Sam has other plans for him. Either he involves her in what he does or it is over. This is complicated, and cannot be easily resolved. Intelligence work doesn’t stop for relationships. The couple find themselves involved in a plot that threatens the peace of the Middle East. It is go-time once again.
